We were married for 22 years, before he left me, out of the blue, for someone else, back in 2014. Our divorce was final in 2015. You can read the detailed story at

I was shocked to find out that he passed away on Aug 23, 2021 of Covid. He was only 57 years old. I just received his death certificate today and decided to write about his last chapter and how it affected me.
I spoke with one of his sisters,(who hasn’t spoken with me since 2014), and this is what I was told;
He went on a trip with his wife and stepson, and he got sick. Sadly he was not vaccinated, and he had underlying health issues. He went to the hospital for a couple of days, and was released. He and his wife stopped communicating with his family. After 3 days of no communication with his family, his family called the local police and asked them to do a wellness check. When they arrived, he was already deceased.
I have so many unanswered questions, but I will probably never know what really happened, during those 3 days.
I do know, that he died alone, sadly. I also know that he would still be alive if he never left me.
My emotions have been all over the place, since I heard the news. I think about what could have been, but mostly, I feel sadness for him and his siblings. I also think that he is now with his deceased parents, who are scolding him, for all the mistakes that he made.
He chose his path in life and made the decisions that he made, which led him to where he is now.
R.I.P.

Love and hugs honey! I know it’s troubling but none of us can save people from themselves!
