I Miss Being Creative and Making Art

Ever since I fell in June 2025 and broke my knee, I haven’t painted anything. I miss painting and being creative so much.

When I paint, I usually stand at a raised table so I can move around freely. Once I finish a piece, I carry it over to the drying rack, on the opposite side of the room, before starting the next one. Painting has always been an active process for me, so I really need to be on my feet. I suppose I could paint while sitting, but I just don’t get the same perspective.

Unfortunately, even after a year, I still can’t stand for very long. It’s frustrating, but I’m working on it. I’m going to physical therapy twice a week and, although progress is slow, I am improving little by little.

In the meantime, I’ve been focusing on other ways to keep my creative business moving forward. I’ve spent countless hours working on my Etsy shop, Art by Lynne Albright. I added all of the artwork I created in 2025 in preparation for the art shows I had hoped to attend but ultimately had to miss. I also updated the titles and descriptions for each listing to make them easier for shoppers to find.

I’ve been running different sales each month and staying active on Facebook and Instagram to share my work and connect with everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.

To celebrate Christmas in July, I’m currently offering 40% off my entire Etsy shop for the whole month of July. If you’ve had your eye on something, now is a great time to take a look.

While I may not be back in my studio with a paintbrush in hand just yet, I’m doing everything I can to keep moving forward. I know the day will come when I can stand at my painting table again, creating new pieces that bring me as much joy to make as they do for others to enjoy.

Until then, I’ll keep taking things one step, one therapy session, and one day at a time.
