Doggy Guest #51, Remy

I have been pretty lucky, with all of the doggy visitors, that I have had, in the past 3 years. But not every guest is a perfect guest…

Remy is a 12 year old Havanese. He was here for 9 days… 8 days too long, lol.

Dont get me wrong, he was a very sweet dog…when he wasn’t constantly asking me to go out to pee or peeing all over my house.

He actually whined to go out about every 30, 45 or 60 minutes, every day, all day. And at night, he woke up 2 times in the middle of the night to go out as well. I learned early on, that I could not make him wait, because the one time that I did, he stood there and peed right in front me.

Even though he he peed twice, every time we went out, he also peed in my house, in almost every room, every day. Some rugs, I could machine wash, some I could not, so I was constantly cleaning.

I texted the owner for a couple of days straight, explaining what was going on. They apologized, they didn’t know why this was happening, they would take him the vet when they came home, asked if they should come home early, and finally, they said that they would pick him up , when they landed at the local airport, Wed night, instead of Thurs morning. I was counting the days!

They arrived at about 10pm Wed night. They apologized more. They gave me a $40 tip, which was nice and appreciated. I am sure that they were tired, from their travels, and didn’t want to stay and talk. They left pretty quickly. I would have done a happy dance, but I was simply way too tired. In fact, I am exhausted! He left 2 days ago, and I am still tired.

I am taking a break from doggy guest because I am having my bathroom renovated. I am so excited, I have been here for almost 4 years and been thinking about doing this since I moved in. And since, we cant really travel this year, I am spending some money on home improvements. It’s been so much fun selecting everything and I cant wait until it id done! I will definitely post before and after pics, so stay tuned.

Also, I am feeling optimistic about getting my vaccinations in the next couple of months. I know that we all cant wait for our lives to get a little more normal. I cant wait to go visit my family, who I have seen in over a year now.

Stay safe everyone, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
