I can’t believe that I have been here for 6 months!
So much has happened since I got here;
To recap;
My dog and I left our home state and moved 3 states away.
We moved into a cute, 866 square foot house, built in 1915.
We are a block and a 1/2 from the beach on the bay and 5 restaurants. I love living near the water.
I have been getting to know my state. For a “biggest little state”, there is a lot to do and see. My cousin has been showing me around a lot . I have travelled north, south, east and west. I have eaten at some great restaurants, relaxed on some beaches, toured some historical mansions, attended some really great art festivals, enjoyed some great live music, joined 2 meet up groups and met some great people. I have also walked a lot of miles alone and with my dog.
The summer was beautiful for the most part.
Fall is here, with winter is on it’s heels. A huge wind and rain storm came through recently, which knocked down a ton of trees and power lines in my corner of the state. Some people didn’t have power for about 5 days. Power companies came from all over to help restore power. I was fortunate and not only slept through the storm, but I didn’t lose power. A big branch, from my neighbor’s tree, fell in front of my driveway. It took a power line with it. The next morning, the city workers cleaned up all the down branches on my street and fixed the down wire the 2nd day. I was very impressed with how quickly they came and took care of everything. I hope they are as quick when the snow comes.
So what’s next??
I have to go back to PA for some work meetings in Dec. This is the first time I have been back in 6 months. I will have a chance to visit with my family while I am there.
Since I am going home in mid Dec, I am not going home for Thanksgiving, Xmas or new years eve. It’s just too much with my dog. This will be the first, in 51 years, that I have not been with my mother and sisters for Thanksgiving. It will be weird but I will get through it. I have my cousin and uncle here to spend the holidays with.
I am excited to see what in the next 6 months!
You are such an inspiration! Your new life looks great on you!
